Description: Optimization queries form an important part of real world DBSs. Researches in global query optimization have been scarce compared to other issues (such as schema integration) due to the unavailability to reliable cost estimate for autonomous DBCs. There are who feel that query optimization in FDBSs do not differ from Distributed Database Systems but there are differences due to autonomy and heterogeneity which adds to the complexity of query optimization in MDBS.
