This Thesis is a theoretical proposal concerning the fundamental physics of nanoscale magnetic devices (a field known as spintronics) and its control by means of light. Spintronics is a relatively new area of electronics/magnetics engineering in which the spin or angular momentum of the electron in ferromagnetic materials plays a fundamental role.
