WiMAX。 -In the communications network, access technology throughout the development of hot spots. From midnight, frequency division, code assigned to the current air separation, from TDMA, CDMA to OFDMA, from a single antenna to the smart antennas, advanced technology with each passing day, one after another. With the emergence of these new technologies, WiMAX network is becoming the next generation of communication systems competitors. Many people think that WiMAX if not eventually replace 3G, will also be building a foundation for future 4G networks, so many international communications equipment manufacturers who are high hopes for the emergence of WiMAX, Nortel Networks or even to abandon the traditional 3G research and development and specializing in WiMAX. Description: WiMAX and WiFi have emerged as promising
broadband access solutions for the latest generation of wireless
MANs and LANs, respectively. Their complementary features
enable the use of WiMAX as a backhaul service to connect
multiple dispersed WiFi hotspots to the Internet. This study
proposes an integrated architecture utilizing a novel
WiMAX/WiFi Access Point (W2-AP) device to effectively combine
the WiMAX and WiFi technologies. In the proposed architecture,
the protocol operation of the WiFi hotspots is the same as that of
the WiMAX system. As a result, the WiFi network can support
connection-oriented transmissions and QoS in a similar fashion to
the WiMAX system, and thus a considerable improvement in the
delay performance is obtained. The numerical results obtained
using a Qualnet simulator confirm both the effectiveness and the
efficiency of the proposed architecture. Platform: |

Description: The telecommunication industry is expected to continue to grow
as demand increases for cable and high-speed Internet in
previously unserviced locations, and as local telephone
companies upgrade their lines in response to increasing
competition. This paper identifies mobile Worldwide
Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) as a cost
effective solution to answering the challenges posed by the
digital divide. It looks at the digital divide and why it still
persists. It also looks at the technology behind mobile
Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX),
and makes a comparison with two enhanced third generation
(3G) technologies that are potential competitors to WiMAX. It
then goes on describe the business models in WiMAX and states
some of the benefits and drawbacks of a mobile WiMAX
network. Platform: |

Description: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex or OFDM is a modulation format that is finding increasing levels of use in today s radio communications scene. OFDM has been adopted in the Wi-Fi arena where the 802.11a standard uses it to provide data rates up to 54 Mbps in the 5 GHz ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band. In addition to this the recently ratified 802.11g standard has it in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. In addition to this, it is being used for WiMAX and is also the format of choice for the next generation cellular radio communications systems including 3G LTE and UMB. Platform: |
