Description: This paper discusses the impainting method using TV —Stokes equations．The isophote directions are propagated into the inpainting domain． An energy minimization model combined with the zero divergence condition is used to get a nonlinear Stokes equation．Upon the construction of isophote directions，an image is restored to fit the constructed direction．Both steps reduce to the solving of some nonlinear partial differ—ential equations．
