Description: This report outlines a project to modify a speech signal with various different effects. The effects implemented were an echo, a phase shift and a residual threshold clipping. An analysis of the process and techniques involved in implementing these techniques is also offered with an insight into the reasons behind the choices made throughout the project. This report will break down the steps of segmenting a speech signal, transferring segments into the frequency domain, estimating the spectral envelope, manipulating the signal in various ways, then returned to the time domain for playback. A copy of the project is provided in the appendix as well as sample output results. Also mentioned are possible expansions on the project that could enhance its functionality and the team’s recommendations in proceeding with these enhancements.
