 Description: This model demonstrates how to implement a coupled structural-aerodynamic problem. The wing, otherwise rigid, is allowed to pitch and plunge. The motion of the wing is defined using SimMechanics blocks. The aerodynamic model is a simple, quasi-steady formulation. Dynamic pressure is manipulated by varying the Mach number & Altitude. You can also vary the CG location of the wing by double clicking on the picture of the BACT subsystem. The structural, mass, and aerodynamic properties all come from the following "Modeling the Benchmark Active Control Technology Wind Tunnel Model for Application to Flutter Suppression" by Martin R. Waszak of NASA Langley. Automatic flutter detection is implemented via a state-machine in Stateflow.
