Description: This subpart of ISO/IEC 14496-3 describes the MPEG-4 Audio Lossless Coding (ALS) algorithm for lossless
coding of audio signals.
MPEG-4 ALS is a lossless compression scheme for digital audio data, i.e. the decoded data is a bit-identical
reconstruction of the original input data. Input signals can be integer PCM data with 8 to 32-bit word length or
32-bit IEEE floating-point data. MPEG-4 ALS provides a wide range of flexibility in terms of compressioncomplexity trade-off, since the combination of several tools allows for the definition of compression levels with
different complexities.
