Description: This article describes the JDesktop Integration Components (the JDIC), which is an open source project, the aim is to build the elimination of native components of the gap between the application and the Java equivalent. JDIC' s single Java API allows applications to tap into the native operating system features, while maintaining cross-platform support. It currently provides a native Web browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla) support, system tray support, file extensions, integration and other desktop features.
