Description: Adaptive Wavelet Image Compression
This report describes the Adaptive Wavelet Image Compression (AWIC) algorithm in
detail. This is a fast, efficient image compression technique which often produces better
image quality than JPEG, the current international standard, at high compression levels.
Enough detail is included so that software can be generated from this description. In
addition to specific algorithm details, a portion of the analysis leading to the algorithmic
design is included, as well as intermediate and final test results.
