Description: We can summarize a video using its important and/or interesting scenes. The scenes selected, however, depend on the purpose of the summary. A good summarizing technique should be able to support various summarization needs. In this paper, we introduce a technique which allows the user to choose a few scene as important according to the application. Based on these selections, our algorithm au- tomatically uncovers the remaining important scenes in the video. In this method, each scene is represented by a couple of numerical values. Since the processing is based on these numbers, it is highly ecient. Image align- ment (registration) algorithms can discover the large-scale (parametric) correspon- dence relationships among images with varying degrees of overlap. Image stitching algorithms take the alignment estimates produced by such registration algorithms and blend the images in a seam- less manner, taking care to deal with potential problems such as blurring or ghosting caused by parallax and scene movement as well as varying image exposures. The layers are then puckrd together in a smull ouzput video volume such tlzar the total amount of visual information in the video volume is maximized. To achieve the packing process, we develop a new algorithm based upon the3rst-jt und Graph cut optimization techniques. Since our method is uble to cul qfr spatially und temporally less informative portions, it is uble to generute much more compuct yet highly informative output videos.
