The proposed routing protocol for Wireless Sensor Network is hierarchical and cluster based. The protocol supports mobility in the Sensor Nodes as well as in the Sink. The entire protocol is described in terms of two phases namely Setup Phase and Data Forwarding Phase. After deployment of the Sensor Nodes entire sensor field in divided into some logical clusters and each cluster contains Sensor Nodes with different roles such as Gateway Node, Cluster Head Node and Ordinary Sensor Node. Majority of the computation intensive tasks are carried out in the Sink. Simulation results show the energy efficiency of the proposed protocol. The performance of the proposed protocol has been compared with that of CBR mobile WSN and results show better performance of the proposed protocol. Future scope of the work is outlined.

Routing in WSN as an Optimization Problem Routing in Wireless sensor networks can be viewed as an optimization problem in which there is a need to find the optimal path (which is not necessarily the shortest one) in terms of some parameters like energy, delay and reliability.

The cluster head is selected by the random number generated by nodes in the hierarchical routing protocol which is implementing Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH). As a result, the cluster head may be chosen randomly and be distributed asymmetrically. Focus on this problem, this paper introduces a function to improve the problem. This function uses the relative distance between nodes and base station and the round number as its parameters. Hence, the distribution of cluster head can be symmetrical through changing parameters of the function, and. The sensor nodes of a wireless grain depot surveillance system are deployed in crystal grids, which provide lot of valid position information. To avoid the energy consumption unbalance of the single hop routing model adopted by LEACH protocol, a novel hybrid routing model is proposed in this paper. Multi-hop routing is introduced into the distant field nodes through right angle transferring of approximate equivalence consumption path. And the average energy consumption is used as a threshold of selecting intermediate transferring nodes to minimize total variance of node s energy consumption, so that balance the whole network. Simulations show that the hybrid model eliminates hot spots within cluster and prolong the lifetime ofWSN. -The sensor nodes of a wireless grain depot surveillance system are deployed in crystal grids, which provide lot of valid position information. In wireless sensor networks, the power resource of each sensor node is limited. Minimizing energy dissipation and maximizing network lifetime are important issues in the design of routing protocols for sensor networks. In this paper, Cluster routing protocol LEACH (Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) is research and improved. We extend LEACH stochastic cluster-head selection algorithm via changing the round time According to the situation of sensor network. It is named Variable-round LEACH. The result simulated in NS2 shows that the energy is significantly reduced and the lifetime of the whole network is increased compared with the previous routing algorithm for the sensor networks.

Virtual multiple input multiple output (MIMO) techniques are used for energy efficient communication in wireless sensor networks. We investigate virtual MIMO for fixed and variable rates. We propose energy efficient routing based on virtual MIMO. The simulation results show that virtual MIMO based routing is more energy efficient as compared to SISO (single input single output) for larger distances.

Advances in wireless sensor network (WSN) technology has provided the availability of small and low-cost sensor nodes with capability of sensing various types of physical and environmental conditions, data processing, and wireless communication. Variety of sensing capabilities results in profusion of application areas. However, the characteristics of wireless sensor networks require more effective methods for data forwarding and processing. In WSN, the sensor nodes have a limited transmission range, and their processing and storage capabilities as well as their energy resources are also limited. Routing protocols for wireless sensor networks are responsible for maintaining the routes in the network and have to ensure reliable multi-hop communication under these conditions. In this paper, we give a survey of routing protocols for Wireless Sensor Network and compare their strengths and limitations.

Wireless Sensor Network is the network of power-limited sensing devices called sensors. The present work treats the problem of routing data within a wireless sensors network (WSN) for industrial process control. Our application interests British Gas to monitor the level of propane in a tank. The considered methodology is based on the algorithm CSMA / CA Slotted to access the medium, the processing algorithm measures the volume of propane to exploit failing sensors and intelligent routing algorithm transmission value through the base station while ensuring minimizing energy consumption and maximizing the life time of nodes. The combination of these mechanisms gives birth to a new approach which has been applied to a WSN installed in the industry in order to analyze the performance of the techniques developed for the quality of service Qos, the energy conservation and extension of life.
