Blimpduino is a very low cost open source autonomous blimp. It consists of an Arduino-based blimp controller board with on-board infrared and ultrasonic sensors and an interface for an optional RC mode, a simple gondola with two vectoring (tilting) differential thrusters, and ground-based infrared beacon. It will be available as a commercial kit, complete with a mylar envelope, in late 2008.

Multiple input multiple output techniques combined with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) provide a promising approach for wireless systems. However, a serious drawback of the OFDM system is the high peak-toaverage power ratio (PAPR), which may severely affect the power efficiency of RF power amplifiers. In this paper, we propose a simple method to reduce the PAPR of MIMO-OFDM signals based on the use of unused subcarriers. Instead of processing the signals at each transmitter separately, a peak cancelling signal is generated at one antenna and is then applied to all the others with only simple modifications. Simulation has shown that a minimum 2 dB reduction in PAPR can be achieved for all transmit signals using this approach. As the signal processing is nearly all done at a single transmitter, repetition of the operations at each transmitter is avoided, and therefore the overall cost of the system can be significantly reduced.

The coding language used is VB .Net. Many distributed real-time applications, such as audio- and video-conferencing, require the network to construct a multicast path (tree) from a sender to multiple receivers. Furthermore, real-time applications have Quality-of-Service (QoS) requirements (e.g. bandwidth). The objective of the routing protocol is to build a tree that is both feasible (i.e. satisfies the requested QoS) and least costly. The cost of a tree depends on the costs of its links. The cost of a link should reflect the effect of allocating resources to the new connection on existing and future connections. We have proposed a digitally implemented QPSK system for Free-Space Optics (FSO) systems for future satellite missions. We have used a Laser source of 1550nm wavelength and data rate of 2.5Gbps.The system consists of a modulating and a demodulating block and an advantage of filters added to improve the performance and optimize errors like noise. The best suited modulator for FSO is Mach-Zehnder modulator which is tuned for high performance. The LiNB03 demodulator demodulates the signal which in turn passed to a filter to attenuate the demodulated output and then through an amplifier to increase the signal strength. Digital approach for implementation of QPSK Modulation is attempted here and compared with existing systems. Simulation and characterization is done to freeze design parameters. The system mainly concentrates on parameter like performance, security, minimum size and cost saving which will be the future of satellite communications.
