AREPS computes and displays radar probability of detection, Electronic Support Measure (ESM) vulnerability, surface-borne surface-search radar, and communications (HF to EHF) capability versus range, height, and bearing from the source. Refractivity data can be entered using numerous methods ranging from importing World Meteorological Organization (WMO) upper-air observations to ingesting mesoscale metoeorlogical model data for range and bearing dependent atmospheres. Terrain elevation data are automatically extracted from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED). An operator also has the capability to enter his own terrain data.
