A Perceptually Attentive Super-Resolution (PASR) method is presented to significantly reduce the computational complexity of iterative super-resolution algorithms without loss of the desired perceptual quality. A perceptual model based on just noticeable distortion thresholds is utilized to select the active pixels that need to be processed by the SR algorithm.
