Description: Most motion-based tracking algorithms assume that objects undergo rigid motion, which is most likely disobeyed in real world. In this paper, we present a novel motion-based tracking framework which makes no such assumptions. Object is represented by a set of local invariant features, whose motions are observed by a feature correspon- dence process. A generative model is proposed to depict the relationship between local feature motions and object global motion, whose parameters are learned efciently by an on-line EM algorithm. And the object global motion is estimated in term of maximum likelihood of observations.Then an updating mechanism is employed to adapt object representation. Experiments show that our framework is exible and robust in dealing with appearance changes,background clutter, illumination changes and occlusion

[DocumentsTRACKING IN STREAMED VIDEO BY UPDATING GLOBALLY OPTIMAL MATCHINGS

Description: Matching methods such as the Hungarian algorithm have recently made an appearance as an alternative to classical tracking algorithms in computer vision, since they are able to nd the set of tracks that optimizes well-dened criteria over a given video sequence. How- ever, despite being globally optimal, they carry a cost: since they require complete knowledge of the sequence, such methods can- not work with continuous video streams, a crucial requirement of realistic video surveillance applications. We were able to use the recently proposed Dynamic Hungarian Algorithm in an innovative way, adapting it to the well-known sliding window methodology. The algorithm is able to run in real-time, while retaining its opti- mality. We tested our implementation on several datasets, tracking humans and vehicles, and obtained reliable results using the same set of parameters on all sequences.

The model uses an “acquisition” technique that exploits the correlation properties of the cyclic prefix to get a rough estimate of the frame boundary before attempting to accomplish the fine tracking algorithms. The model implements a 64 carrier OFDM waveform with a 16 point cyclic prefix. The OFDM symbol has 16 pilots, 3 guard tones (0 amplitude at band edge) and uses 4 QAM for the 45 remaining data streams. This latest model includes a fading channel, BER computation, and improved control loop dynamics.

In this paper, we propose a technique for removing outliers based on the knowledge that correct trajectories are constrained to be in a subspace of their domain. We first fit the subspace to the detected trajectories robustly using RANSAC and then remove those that have large residuals. Using real video sequences, we demonstrate that our method is effective even if multiple objects are moving in the scene. We also confirm that the separation accuracy is indeed improved by our method.
