Description: MFC Black Book Introduction: Are you an MFC programmer? Good. There are two types of MFC programmers. What kind are you? The first kind are the good programmers who write programs that conform to the way MFC wants you to do things. The second bunch are wild-eyed anarchists who insist on getting things done their way. Me, I’m in the second group. If you are in the same boat (or would like to be) this book is for you. This book won’t teach you MFC—not in the traditional sense. You should pick it up with a good understanding of basic MFC programming and a desire to do things differently. This isn’t a Scribble tutorial (although I will review some fundamentals in the first chapter). You will learn how to wring every drop from your MFC programs. You’ll discover how to use, abuse, and abandon the document/view architecture. If you’ve ever wanted custom archives, you’ll find that, too.-MFC Black Book Introduction : Are you an MFC programmer Good. There are two typ es of MFC programmers. Description: The NDK is a set of classes that implements a client/server architecture. The NDK hides all the complexity of the connection, sending, and receiving of data over a network. You only have to deal with three classes: CNDKServer, CNDKClient, and CNDKMessage. With just a few methods to override, you obtain a complete robust client/server application. The NDK is based on the class CSocket from MFC, so you can run your application on a local network or on the Internet without any change. To easily understand the integration of the NDK in an application, you ll find at the end of this article a complete chat application.-The NDK is a set of classes that implements a client / server architecture. Description: Some of you may have already come to realize I have previously written and released a similar control via CodeProject. Even though the last control was written using C++ along with MFC, some readers may wonder why I would recreate the same control without branching out into uncharted territory. But the fact of the matter is: I am indeed branching out, and this isn t simply a recreation. I ve never ventured into C# before. So rather than jump the gun and start out with an ambitious project that is nothing but of a stranger to me, I have decided to stick with something I am both familiar and comfortable with: porting my C2DPushGraph control to C#. After porting the control and discovering C# wasn t much different than C++ in ideology, I quickly shifted my focus to improving the feature set and overall design of the control, all while conforming to general C# standards and ethics.

Description: Using comboboxes in the MFC Grid Control Since I posted my MFC grid control I ve had a lot of requests asking how to use other methods of editing cells in the grid. Ken Bertelson has taken this to the extreme, with his Grid Tree control. For some this was a little too involved, so I ve created a demo project that shows how to replace the default editing with a simple combo box. Previous methods of achieving this required that a new CGridCtrl derived class be created. With the new structure in the 2.X versions of CGridCtrl it s now a lot simpler. -Using comboboxes in the MFC Grid ControlSince I posted my MFC grid control I ve had a lot of requests asking how to use other methods of editing cells in the grid. Description: I ve done alot of hard work to bring you an easy way to use winsock in your applications. This code is well commented. Shows how to use SOCKETS, winsock2.h and alot of other stuff. Connect, Listen, Send Data, Get data etc. I created a class to make it easy to use winsock. It s portable to other code. I created a small application in console mode (for simplicity on my part since i dont know much MFC and i didnt want to create an OpenGL interface) called "WeakStick Chat". This code can be improved apon, so please let me know if you do.

[VC/MFCMFC Programming with Visual C++ 6 Unleashed

Description: If you shop like I do, you've just noticed this book on the shelf and picked it up to see what interesting topics it covers. You've read the table of contents. Aggressive. There is obviously a lot of detailed MFC information, but there is also a lot of ATL and COM information. Interesting. So you turn to the introduction to see what it has to say about the wealth of information and hard-won experience contained in this (very large) volume. Will it convince you this book is the best MFC programming book on the market today?
